Elegance Hotels Group Île de Ré general terms and conditions of sale

These terms and conditions apply to all the hotels of the Elegance Hotels Group.

All bookings between the Guest and the Hotel are binding contracts. These General Terms and Conditions of Sale outline the contract terms, designed to protect the mutual interests of both the Guest and the Hotel.

Unless otherwise stated, prices include VAT.
These prices are based on the number of guests per room and the selected dates.


The booking agreement is personal and non-transferable. It specifies the stay dates, number of nights, number of guests, room category, whether cancellation insurance has been purchased, and any additional services booked. The room is available from 3.00 pm on the day of arrival to 11.00 am on the day of departure.

1 - Visitor’s taxes

Visitor’s taxes are an extra cost. The amounts and applicable periods of these taxes depend on each village council and the grading of the hotel in question.
They are payable on check-in, and then paid to the town hall. Each hotel can give you precise information about these taxes.

2 - Deposit

All bookings are firm once the deposit has been received/cashed.
- The deposit is equivalent to the cost of the first night for stays of 6 nights or less.
- The deposit is 30% of the total amount agreed for stays of 7 nights or more.

The deposit can be paid as follows
  • Your bank card will be debited via a secure distance selling network.
  • French bank or post office cheque.
  • Bank transfer (IBAN only).
  • French Holiday Vouchers (ANCV), Elegance Hotels Group gift vouchers (sent by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt).

Payment of the deposit signifies that the Guest acknowledges and accepts the General Terms and Conditions of Sale.

3 - Cancellation insurance

Optional cancellation insurance is available for 5% of the total cost of your stay.
Regardless of the reason for cancelling, the amounts paid will be refunded, minus the amount of the cancellation insurance, if the cancellation is confirmed more than 48 hours before the arrival date.
No refund will be issued if the guest fails to notify us at least 48 hours before the arrival date. Cancellations must be confirmed in writing. No refund will be made if the Guest leaves before the end of their stay, for whatever reason.
Without cancellation insurance, all amounts paid will be retained, regardless of the reason for cancellation.

4 - Booking confirmation

A booking confirmation will be sent by e-mail or post for stays of 7 nights or more. For stays of 6 nights or less, booking confirmation is oral. At the guest’s request, we can send it by e-mail.

5- Payment of the balance

The balance of the booking must be paid on check in, when the keys are handed over.

6 - Credit card imprint

On arrive, you will be asked to provide a credit/debit card imprint as a guarantee for any services not included in the contract and consumed during your stay.

7 - Damage

Any damage found in the rooms or common areas of the hotel will be billed based on the cost of replacing or repairing the damaged items, as well as any operational loss incurred.

8 - Gift presentation boxes

“BOX” Gift presentation boxes are subject to the same cancellation policy as those set out in article 2 and described above.

9 - Deviating General Terms and Conditions

The Elegance Hotels Group reserves the right to establish special terms and conditions of sale for any service where the number of participants exceeds 8 and/or the number of accommodation units exceeds 4.
In this case, the applicable terms will be determined and communicated prior to booking.
